In 1984 Hernán
debuted at 14 years old in the lower divisions
of the Argentine team, "Gimnasia y
Esgrima La Plata", and in February
1990 he debuted professionally with the
same club against the Argentine team “Ferrocarril
Oeste”.
He was honored to be selected as part of
the Selección Nacional Argentina
(National Team) three times during
his career. The first time was 1989 at 19
years old, the second in 1992
and again in 1995 where he played
in the Copa América, the
America's Cup Tournament.
In August 1993 he was transferred
to the Club Deportivo Toluca, also
known as the Diablos Rojos of Mexico,
where he debuted the 10th of February 1994.
In June of the same year he was transferred
to Platense in Argentina but returned
again to Toluca, Mexico for the 1995/96 season.
The following two years were spent with
Newell’s Old Boys and Huracán,
both in Argentina.
In 1998 he returned to
Toluca and debuted in the Concacaf
tournament where the team passed to the finals.
The following years with Toluca have been very successful
for Hernán, and he has been
nominated five times as the “Best
Goalkeeper in Mexico” between 1998 and 2006. |
